“And I am with you always, till the close of the age.” Matthew 28:20
I used to have a book, and maybe I do in some box at home, that was titled, “Great Truths About Life that Little Children have Learned.” Here are some of the “truths” that these children listed:
Never ask your three year old brother to hold a tomato or an egg;
You cannot trust dogs to watch your lunch for you;
School lunches stick well on ceilings;
You cannot hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk;
Never wear polka dot underwear under white shorts.
Maybe we have heard similar comments from children we know, but there is one great “truth” that remains forever for any one of any age: God is with us . . . and he is with us ALWAYS.
God does not say that he will only be with us when we are having fun, or only when situations are favorable for us. God has promised us that no matter what is happening in our lives, good, bad, or indifferent, no matter what, he will ALWAYS be with us.
Lord God, you tell us that you are with us always. Help us to feel your presence every moment of every day as we turn to you knowing that you are beside us to walk with us, overhead to watch over us, beneath us to carry us when we feel that we cannot go on, and in front of us to guide us along our way. Amen
